Arrive at Paro International Airport and complete immigration formalities.
Meet your local Bhutanese guide and transfer to Thimphu, the capital city.
Enjoy a traditional Bhutanese meal on arrival.
Begin gentle acclimatisation with light sightseeing:
National Memorial Chorten – a revered stupa where locals offer daily prayers.
Folk Heritage Museum – glimpse into rural Bhutanese lifestyle and traditions.
Textile Museum – admire the intricate handwoven fabrics of Bhutan.
Institute of Zorig Chusum – watch students practice Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts (painting, woodcarving, sculpture, etc.).
Spend the day immersed in the Thimphu Tshechu, one of Bhutan’s grandest festivals.
Visit Tashichhodzong, home to the royal offices and main monastic body.
Witness the sacred cham dances—colorful masked performances symbolizing the victory of good over evil.
Observe the dramatic unfurling of the giant silk thangka depicting Guru Padmasambhava.
In the evening, drive to Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang) to see the towering Buddha Dordenma statue and panoramic city views at sunset.
Morning drive to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan.
Stop at Dochula Pass (3,100 m):
108 chortens built by the Queen Mother in honor of fallen soldiers.
On clear days, get majestic views of the Himalayas.
Visit Punakha Dzong – an architectural masterpiece set at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.
Trek to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, built by the Queen Mother, offering serene hilltop views of Punakha Valley.
Stroll through scenic rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang, the famous fertility temple of Drukpa Kuenley, the “Divine Madman.”
Drive to Wangdue, known for its skilled artisans and traditional crafts:
Explore Wangdue Dzong, poised dramatically above the river junction.
Discover local bamboo, slate, and stone crafts in the nearby market.
Scenic return journey to Paro Valley.
Visit Drukgyal Dzong, a 17th-century fortress in ruins that once defended Bhutan from Tibetan invasions.
Explore Ta Dzong (National Museum) – exhibits of thangka paintings, ancient armour, textiles, and natural history.
Wander through Paro town and admire views of Mount Jomolhari, whose glaciers feed the valley’s rivers.
Embark on a rewarding hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest).
Stop at the viewpoint cafeteria for breathtaking photos of the cliffside monastery.
Experience the serene spiritual atmosphere and fluttering prayer flags.
The excursion takes roughly 5–7 hours, depending on pace.
Later, visit Paro Dzong, an impressive 15th-century fortress still active as a religious and administrative center.
Early transfer to Paro International Airport.
